"Blending In", "Sticking Together" or Both?

Catalyst recently released a study on the networking styles of women of color, finding that women of color typically adopt a style on the continuum between:

“Blending In” – having a high number of colleagues from work, or a high number of white men in one’s network; or

“Sticking Together” – having a low number of colleagues from work, and a high number of people who share the same race/ethnicity/gender in one’s network.
